Title: An educational proposal towards link between whole and parts construction under Blaise Pascal enunciation

ABSTRACT

This thesis constitutes a theoretical  contribution to a pedagogy that considers Education as a Human Development System. The proposal concerns to the application of a theoretical tool named Object Oriented Modeling. This tool is referred to Complex Systems Development in Informatics. This tool appears adequate to be used in Educational Context, if it is, just, considered  as a Complex Development System.

Over a scenery where the Human Civilization contains the Education, as a category, it is analyzed the present Knowledge Specialization Paradigmatic crisis. Knowledge Specialization and Fragmentation from the Present Predominant Paradigm deep affects human people, strong way, in face of Globalization phenomenon.

Some concepts are searched, focusing more flexible aspects to traduce an adequate pedagogic praxis related with nowadays context. It is built an Educational Model, including Teaching Environment essential aspects. The Educational proposal faces Pascal enunciate about a " link between whole and parts ". On Education, an answer towards the proposed link, is reached by the alignment of educational principles with the Natural Laws. This formulation gives a theoretical support to some teaching methodologies. Those methodologies are practiced today, all over the world, also in Engineering and Computer Sciences domain, under the name of Project Orientation. The author’s Educational Methodology is named Thematic Oriented Methodology. Author ´s teaching concrete experience are presented. Conclusions points out that: 1- it is important to integrate Object (Thematic), Subject (Student-Members) in an Educational Humanistic Perspective in all knowledge domains. 2 - isolated integrative pedagogic proposals must migrate towards curricular level support, promoting its potentiality and profit from its advantages. 3 - The Object Oriented Modeling appears to be a generic tool for Complex Thematic Modeling support. So, it can be applied to all other Knowledge Complex domains, independent from Informatics Modeling products, themselves.
