Infimum Example

This Basic level operation is very easy to learn because it is like an intersection of sets for binary images. In the example bellow we show two input images and their infimum.

For graylevel signal and images, the infimum is point by point the lowest level of them.

In the next example we show an example of the infimum operator applied to a one dimensional signal. Signal 1 and 2 are the input signals (respectively blue and yellow) and the output signal is plotted in red.

Every group of images has an infimum because we are working in complete lattices.
