PROGRAM NAME
kcrsum - creates a checksum file for object(s)
DESCRIPTION
kcrsum
is a Perl script which will create Khoros checksum files for
a set of software objects.
kcrsum
is typically used in conjunction
with kcksum, kpack, and kunpack,
to create Khoros pack files.
Khoros pack files are a mechanism for distributing changes to software objects.
More information about these tools can be found in Chapter 5 of the
SUPPORT
toolbox manual,
which includes a tutorial on the use of kpack and friends.
The simplest way to use
kcrsum
is when generating a checksum file for a single software object.
If
banana
is a kroutine object in the
FRUIT
toolbox, then the following command will create a checksum file for banana:
% kcrsum -tb fruit -oname banana
The checksum file will be created with the following path:
$FRUIT/objects/kroutine/banana/db/banana.cksum
If no object name is given,
then checksum files will be created for all software objects
in the selected toolbox:
% kcrsum -tb fruit
And if no toolbox is given,
then checksum files will be created for all objects in all available toolboxes.
