PROGRAM NAME

g3daxis - Generates a 3d axis geometry object from data.

DESCRIPTION

This routine generates geometry representing a 3D axis system. The extent of the axis system can either be explicitly specified, or automatically calculated from an existing location data set. The axis system may be given a collective name for identification purposes. Labels and tic marks can be optionally included.

REQUIRED ARGUMENTS

desc: Data file containing 3d location data.

desc: Geometry object containing a 3d axis.

Mutually Exclusive Group; you must specify ONE of:

-do_auto_extents
type: boolean
desc: Indicates if the extents of the axes should be computed from the input location data.
default: true
OR

ALL OF the Mutually Inclusive Group:

-xmin
type: float
desc: Minimum X coordinate for user-specified extents.
default: 0
bounds: -100 < [-xmin] < 100
AND
-xmax
type: float
desc: Maximum X coordinate for user-specified extents.
default: 0
bounds: -100 < [-xmax] < 100
AND
-ymin
type: float
desc: Minimum Y coordinate for user-specified extents.
default: 0
bounds: -100 < [-ymin] < 100
AND
-ymax
type: float
desc: Maximum Y coordinate for user-specified extents.
default: 0
bounds: -100 < [-ymax] < 100
AND
-zmin
type: float
desc: Minimum Z coordinate for user-specified extents.
default: 0
bounds: -100 < [-zmin] < 100
AND
-zmax
type: float
desc: Maximum Z coordinate for user-specified extents.
default: 0
bounds: -100 < [-zmax] < 100

OPTIONAL ARGUMENTS

-name
type: string
desc: Name used as the internal object name.
default: 3D_axis

Mutually Inclusive Group; if desired, specify ALL of:

-do_ticks
type: boolean
desc: Will cause tick marks to be generated along each axis.
default: false
AND
-tdensity
type: integer
desc: Indicates the number of tick marks/text along each axis.
default: 4
bounds: value >= 0
AND
-do_labels
type: boolean
desc: Will cause text to appear in the geometry.
default: true
AND
-sprintf_format
type: string
desc: Raw text formatting string used when labels are sprintf'ed. NOTE: the user's input string is NOT checked for validity. The format string should be valid for floating point values, eg: %g, %6.4f, etc..
default: %g
