BOOTSTRAP commands
PROGRAM NAME
kcp - Copy a toolbox, software object, or file
DESCRIPTION
When a program or library object is copied from one toolbox to another,
the directory structure of the program or library object must be duplicated
in the second toolbox. Then, all the files associated with the object must be
copied from the first toolbox to the second. Note that the relative paths
from the toolbox top level source are preserved during the copy. After all
the files are copied, the new object is registered in the toolbox.
If the object already exists in the destination toolbox,
kcpobj will
prompt whether to cancel the operation, remove the existing object in the
destination toolbox before re-creating it, or to overwrite the existing object
in the destination toolbox.
When the [-force] option is used, if the object already exists in the
destination toolbox, the object will be removed completely and then re-created.
This program allows you to copy your object out of your distribution toolbox
to a work toolbox so you can work on it. This method of work is recommended,
if a program needs to be worked on for an extended period of time.
It is not recommended that the overwrite mode of kcpobj is used after
major enhancements are made to the object, especially if one or more filenames
have changed or files have been deleted (because over-write mode will not
delete files, only add them).
