GEOMETRY commands
PROGRAM NAME
gstreamlines - Compute Streamlines through 3-Component Vector/Flow Data.
DESCRIPTION
This visualization tool is useful for exploring "flow fields." Seed points,
contained in the "rake" input, are starting locations in the input flow
field. From each seed point, a streamline curve is computed. A streamline
is defined as a curve which is tangential to a flow field along its
entire length. A numerical integration of flow values surrounding each
computed sample point in space contributes to the next point along the
streamline.
REQUIRED ARGUMENTS
- -i
-
type: infile
desc: Data object containing flow vectors. Must have 3 computational dimensions and 3 coordinate dimensions.
- -rake
-
type: infile
desc: List of x,y,z points used for seeding the streamlines computation.
- -o
-
type: outfile
desc: Geometry representing streamlines.
OPTIONAL ARGUMENTS
- -name
-
type: string
desc: Internal name of geometry object.
default: streamlines
- -step
-
type: float
desc: Controls granularity of integration. Make smaller for better approximation.
default: 0.05
bounds: value > 0.0
- -nsteps
-
type: integer
desc: Number of integration steps to compute.
