LIBRARY ROUTINE

xvw_check_localhost - see if the object is on the local display

LIBRARY CALL

int xvw_check_localhost(
   xvobject object)

INPUT

OUTPUT

none

RETURN VALUE

TRUE to indicate the local display, FALSE to indicate a remote display

DESCRIPTION

When passed a GUI or visual object, this routine returns TRUE if the object appears on the local display. If passed NULL for the object, the routine will indicate whether or not the default display is local. This is used to determine whether certain visual objects can use some of the fast server extensions (eg, MIT shared memory) that are only available if the client process and display are located on the same local host.
