PROGRAM NAME
kcksum - check checksums created by kcrsum
DESCRIPTION
kcksum
is a Perl script which will check Khoros checksum files
for a set of software objects, and see if any files have changed.
kcksum
is typically used in conjunction
with kcksum, kpack, and kunpack,
to create Khoros pack files.
Khoros pack files are a mechanism for distributing changes to software objects.
More information about these tools can be found in Chapter 5 of the
SUPPORT
toolbox manual,
which includes a tutorial on the use of kpack and friends.
The simplest way to use kcksum
is when checking the checksum file for a single software object.
If banana is a kroutine object in the FRUIT toolbox,
then the following command will create a checksum file for banana:
% kcksum -tb fruit -oname banana
This will print out a list of files in the software object
which have changed since the object's checksum files
were created with kcrsum.
If no object name is given,
then checksum files will be checked for all software objects
in the selected toolbox:
% kcksum -tb fruit
And if no toolbox is given,
then checksum files will be checked for all objects in all available toolboxes.
