Sup-Generating Operator
Building the Cantata Workspace
To build a workspace to experiment with the sup-generating operator:
- Select and Display the image $MMACH/viff/supgen.xv
using the operators User Defined, Expand and
Display Image. Expand is used to make the pixels
look larger as the original image is very small.
- Build the two Structuring Elements A and B using two
3x3 Str.El.
operators.
- Use operators
Erosion,
Anti-Dilation and
Intersection
Exercises
- Repeat the same experiment to detect the pixels that have all its
4-connected neighbors.
- Repeat the same experiment to detect the pixels that have at least
one of its 4-connected neighbors. (Hint, use the operator
Rotate Str. El.)
- Repeat the same experiment to detect the end points of the objects.
(Hint, use the operator
Rotate Str. El.)
- Repeat the same experiment to detect the tripple points.
(Hint, use the operator
Rotate Str. El.)
- Using the image M.xv as the left extremity of the closed interval
which characterizes the supgen operator, create a marker for the letter
M that separates this letters of the other letters in the image
letters.xv.
